When I first started to look for pen friends I found the initial searches confusing thwart with websites that promised much and then demanded payment to actually make contact with people. (I’ll admit I paid a monthly subscription to one, just for a month and found that I was in fact no better off because of it.
A remarkably simple, yet effective website. I’ve have had the most success here. All you do is create your free ad, write a bit about yourself and wait for people to contact you. You choose whether or not you wish to share your full postal address with the world or just your email, personally I shared my full postal address. Of course, it’s also a good place to look for people to contact yourself.
This is an on-line database of address and interests of Mail Enthusiasts. Adding your name and address and supplying a list of things that interests you gives other Mail Enthusiasts the information they need to send postcards, letters, or packages – bought, found, or handmade – to appreciative recipients. I love this site! And again very simple to use which is always a bonus.
A great postcard swapping site which is free to use. I loved it at first but I’ve stopped postcrossing myself due to the cost of stamps for postcards as I prefer to use them on sending out letters to people. A great concept though.
These two are handy, if you want to subscribe (the only way for you to contact others, however people can still contact you if you are not a paying member)
